Wrong for Minnesota

Scott Jensen Will Gut Funding for Minnesota Schools

Minnesota’s public schools are in trouble, and it’s because Republicans like Scott Jensen keep underfunding them.

As a Minnesota State Senator, Jensen voted to underfund Minnesota schools and reduce access to pre-K for Minnesota’s youngest learners.

And he voted to give millions of dollars in tax breaks to the wealthiest Minnesotans and big tobacco companies at the expense of our schools.

Now, Jensen wants to slash even more funding from early childhood, K-12, and higher education programs while giving tax breaks to big corporations and the wealthy.

In addition to giving tax breaks to the wealthy and big corporations at the expense of schools, Scott Jensen wants to take funding away from Minnesota’s public schools and send it to unaccountable private schools.

Scott Jensen’s plans to cut funding for Minnesota’s public schools means that schools might have to cut classroom programs, lay off teachers, and increase class sizes. And that’s the last thing that students and teachers need right now.

Every Minnesota student deserves access to high-quality education and the opportunity to succeed – no matter their zip code.

Our students, teachers, and families deserve better than Scott Jensen’s extreme plans to decimate our public schools.
